Our Philosophy

Our teaching and learning philosophy at Princeton Pre School is multifaceted. In essence we believe:

...The early childhood years are precious and should be celebrated and fostered in a stimulating and caring environment.

...Knowledge must be actively constructed by the learner. In order to make learning a natural and meaningful process "hands on" learning experiences are provided at every opportunity.

...By providing children with choice in activities ensures their motivation is higher, their engagement longer and their learning heightened.

...Play is the work of the child and the way in which they explore their world, create meaning and sustain a healthy development. Hence, we surround children in well-planned play experiences both indoors and outdoors.

...Activities should be planned to aid in the development of children's language and communication skills which are viewed as essential components of learning and creativity.

...Children develop at different rates and need experiences that cater for their individual differences.

...A positive behavioural program encourages on-task behaviour and maximises time for learning.

...It is the right of every child to feel safe, secure and cared for.
